This page is an English translation provided for information only. The French version is the only legally binding one and prevails in case of any difference: lire la version française.

This website sets no cookies and uses no trackers or analytics tools. Here is, in plain words, what happens when you visit it and when you use OkaClient.

Data controller

On this website (okaclient.com)

  • No cookies, no trackers, no audience measurement. Fonts and scripts are hosted with the website: your visit calls on no third-party service. That's why there is no cookie banner: there is nothing to accept.
  • Language preference. If you pick a language with the FR / EN selector, that choice is kept in your browser (local storage, key "okaclient-langue") so the site shows you that language next time. When no choice is saved, the site only reads the languages your browser announces, on your device, to show you the French or the English version. Nothing is sent to us, and you can erase it with the site data in your browser.
  • Sound preference. If you turn the website's sounds on or off, that choice is kept in your browser (local storage, key "okaclient-son"). It never leaves your device and you can erase it with the site data in your browser.
  • Server technical log. For security and to keep the website running, the server records each request: date and time, requested address, response code, size and browser. Your IP address is not included. This log is deleted after 15 days at most.
  • Cloudflare. The website goes through the network of Cloudflare, Inc., which receives your IP address to deliver the pages to you and to protect the website against attacks. Cloudflare acts on our behalf, under its privacy policy.
  • Download. To show the latest version, your page reads the update manifest published on this same website. Nothing is sent back.
  • External links. Discord and the other websites we link to apply their own rules once you click.

In the OkaClient launcher and mod

  • No OkaClient account for now. The launcher ships with no third-party measurement or tracking tool: the only data sent to OkaClient's publisher is described below, on its own service (okaclient.com and okaclient.survietiktok.fr).
  • Anonymous statistics (can be turned off). To know how many people use OkaClient, on which versions, with which features and on which servers, so as to decide what to fix, which Minecraft versions to keep and which servers to work with, OkaClient sends its service statistics that are only used to make totals. They are tied to an installation ID picked at random on the first launch: it is tied neither to your account, nor to your username, nor to your computer, and the service only keeps a fingerprint of it (the ID hashed with a server secret, never the ID itself).
    • The launcher, at start-up then at most once every 24 hours: its version, the operating system (Windows, macOS or Linux), the architecture (x64, arm64…), the channel (stable or beta), its language, the number of Microsoft and offline accounts in ranges (0, 1, 2, 3 to 5, 6 or more — never the accounts themselves), how many times the launcher was opened, games were started and the launcher was opened without playing, and the official packs installed (for instance the SurvieTikTok pack).
    • The game (OkaClient mod), only when it was started by the launcher with this setting on: the Minecraft version, the mod loader (Fabric or Legacy Fabric), the mod version, the number of other mods in ranges, the game language, the OkaClient features used (badge, streamer mode, shared screenshot, borderless full screen, account switch in game) and, for each play session (at its start, every 5 minutes and at its end), the play time and the server: the partner server's name (SurvieTikTok, OneChunk…) or, for any other server, only its domain name (for instance “hypixel.net”, without sub-domain or port). A server's IP address is never sent: the game only sends “IP address”, “local network” or “single player”. In streamer mode the server is not sent at all (“hidden”), unless it is a partner server.
    • Country. The country (for instance “FR”) is the one Cloudflare gives for the request; the service never looks at your IP address to find it, and does not keep it.
What the service keeps: no IP address, no username, no UUID. The link between a fingerprint and a server only exists during the current day; after that, only counters per server remain (sessions, number of players, play time). The fingerprints are erased after 35 days; only daily totals remain. In the results, a server seen by fewer than 3 different players over the period is never named: it is counted under “others”. These totals can only be read on OkaClient's server and are neither sold nor shared. You can turn everything off in Settings › Send anonymous statistics: neither the launcher nor the game send anything any more. A game started without the launcher sends no statistics.
  • OkaClient badge in game. While you play online, the mod sends your username and Minecraft UUID to OkaClient's service, about once a minute, to show the OkaClient badge in front of your name to other OkaClient players (the mod asks the service which of the players around you use OkaClient). For a Microsoft account, the proof that the account is yours goes through Mojang's session server, as when joining a server; your sign-in token never leaves your computer. This presence is only kept in memory and disappears about 3 minutes after your game. It is also used to count the OkaClient players in game: for that, the service only keeps a fingerprint of your UUID (hashed with a server secret, never your UUID or username), erased after 35 days. No IP address is kept. The badge is part of OkaClient and can no longer be turned off since version 1.2.1.
  • Bug report. Only if you click "Send a report", the launcher sends OkaClient's service the versions (launcher, mod, Minecraft), your system, your message and the useful logs (game log, last crash report, launcher log). Before sending, it removes sign-in tokens and other secrets, e-mail and IP addresses, your computer's user name and chat lines, then shows you exactly what leaves. The report, without your IP address, is kept 180 days for support.
  • Public crash report. From the crash diagnosis, and only if you choose to, the launcher can also publish the report on mclo.gs (public link), after the same clean-up.
  • Shared screenshots. Only if you click "Share" (in the launcher or in game), the screenshot is put online on okaclient.com and okaclient.survietiktok.fr with a link that is hard to guess, which you can give to anyone you like. The image metadata is removed and your IP address is not kept. It is erased after 90 days, or earlier if you remove it ("Remove the link"): the deletion key stays on your computer.
  • Services contacted, as with any connection (they see your IP address): Mojang and Microsoft (the game, Java, and signing in to your Microsoft account if you choose to), Modrinth (searching and downloading content), the loader servers (Fabric, Forge, NeoForge, Quilt), the partner servers (to show their status) and this website (signed updates and OkaClient's service described above).
  • Microsoft account. You sign in on Microsoft's page, in your browser. The tokens stay on your computer, encrypted by your operating system; OkaClient's publisher never receives them.
  • Discord status. The launcher and the mod show your game on your Discord profile, through the Discord app on your computer. The server address only appears for partner servers. This status is part of OkaClient; to hide it, turn off activity sharing in Discord's settings.
  • Infinite chat. The chat history is saved only on your computer (30 days by default), and you can erase it from the game.
